The Ships of Starforge MMO
42 hulls catalogued across 6 ship classes — from nimble single-pilot scouts to fleet-commanding capital carriers. Every ship entry includes full stats, weapons loadout, module slots, faction origin, and build costs.
Ship Combat in Starforge MMO
Space combat in Starforge MMO is fundamentally a battle of composition. No single ship class dominates every situation — victory belongs to commanders who understand the strengths and limitations of each hull, then assemble fleets that exploit those synergies. A battleship without fighter escort is a slow, valuable target. A fighter wing without capital fire support burns out against entrenched defences. The art is in the combination.
Each of the six ship classes fulfils a distinct tactical role. Fighters and corvettes operate at the edge of the battle space — harassing, scouting, and picking off isolated targets. Frigates form the backbone of mid-tier defensive screens, using their anti-fighter batteries to deny the enemy the ability to dictate engagement range. Cruisers bring heavy firepower and fleet command capabilities, while battleships and carriers sit at the strategic apex: enormously powerful, enormously expensive, and enormously vulnerable without proper support.
Ship selection is further shaped by faction allegiance. The Terran Federation builds well-rounded hulls suited to balanced engagements. The Void Syndicate specialises in stealth frigates and ambush cruisers. The Solar Empire fields high-damage, energy-weapon focused battlegroups. The Free Traders prioritise cargo and speed over direct combat capability. Choosing the right hull for your faction's playstyle is as important as choosing the right class for the tactical situation.
Technology research gates access to higher-tier ships. Battleships, carriers, and advanced cruisers require sustained investment in the Military technology tree, making early-game ship choices strategically important — every resource spent on a frigate is a resource not going toward the research that unlocks a battleship. Plan your fleet evolution alongside your technology path for maximum efficiency.
The entries in this database include complete stats as shipped with the current game version, including hull points, shield capacity, speed rating, cargo volume, crew requirements, power output, weapons hardpoints, available module slots, construction costs across all six resource types, and the technology prerequisite needed to unlock each hull. Use the comparison tool to evaluate options side by side, or follow the getting-started guide for a recommended early-game ship progression path.
Fighters
6 hullsScout · Intercept · Fast Strike
The smallest combat-capable hulls in the Starforge universe. Fighters trade armour and cargo for extreme speed and agility, excelling at long-range reconnaissance, escort duty, and surgical strike operations. A skilled pilot in a well-fitted fighter can neutralise targets three times its weight class before a response can be mounted.
Corvettes
3 hullsPatrol · Escort · Light Combat
Corvettes are the workhorses of mid-tier fleet operations. With balanced weapon suites, sufficient armour to survive a firefight, and a small cargo bay for extended patrols, they are the first hull class capable of independent sector operations. Most players spend the majority of early-game commanding corvette squadrons.
Frigates
3 hullsAnti-Fighter · Fire Support · Blockade
Frigates occupy the critical mid-point between small patrol craft and true capital ships. Their dedicated anti-fighter weapons, heavier armour plating, and expanded crew complement make them the anchor of most mid-game defensive fleets. Frigates are the last class that individual players typically command directly.
Cruisers
3 hullsHeavy Firepower · Fleet Anchor · Logistics
Cruisers are the minimum class required for fleet command operations. Their heavy weapons batteries, reinforced shields, and extensive sensor arrays make them the preferred platform for sector commanders. A single cruiser can control a battle space that would require a dozen corvettes to patrol.
Battleships
4 hullsCapital Assault · Planetary Bombardment · Siege
Battleships represent the apex of conventional warship design in Starforge. These massive hulls carry the heaviest weapons, the most resilient armour, and crews numbering in the hundreds. Deploying a battleship is a strategic statement — it signals intent to dominate a sector for an extended campaign. Unlocking battleship construction requires sustained investment in the Military technology tree.
Carriers
4 hullsFighter Deployment · Command Platform · Force Projection
Carriers are the ultimate force-multiplier in Starforge MMO. Rather than fighting directly, they project power through the fighter and drone wings they deploy. A well-managed carrier battle group — carrier plus escorts plus two full fighter wings — can project combat power across an entire star system simultaneously. Carriers require advanced Engineering and Military tech and are among the most expensive hulls to construct and maintain.
