What you can — and can't — buy
Starforge is free to play in full. Optional purchases fall into exactly two buckets: cosmetics that change how things look, and construction speedups that shorten waits. Neither buys power.

Ship & Base Skins
Hull paint jobs, station liveries, and faction-themed finishes. Visual only — stats are identical to the default look.
Commander Portraits & Frames
Animated avatar frames, profile banners, and title flourishes that show off your achievements.
Combat & Emote Effects
Cosmetic weapon impacts, shield-hit flourishes, victory emotes, and chat stickers.
Many cosmetics are also earned in-game through achievements, factions, seasons, and the Battle Pass. Purchased or earned, they carry over permanently.
Construction Speedups
Optional convenience for players short on time. Speedups shorten queues you have already started — they never grant anything a patient free player can't earn.
Construction Speedups
Instantly finish — or shave time off — a building or shipyard queue you have already started. The end result is identical to waiting.
Research Speedups
Reduce the wait on a research project already in progress. You unlock exactly the same tech, just sooner.
Time, Not Power
Speedups only convert real-world waiting into convenience. They never increase output, combat strength, or resource caps.
A free player who waits reaches exactly the same outcome as a paying player who buys a speedup. Speedups affect time, not capability.
Currency & taxes
- ✦Prices are shown in your local currency wherever supported. Our payment provider detects your region at checkout and displays the amount you'll actually be charged.
- ✦Any applicable VAT, GST, or sales tax is calculated and added automatically by the payment provider based on your billing location — the final total is always confirmed before you pay.
- ✦Your bank may apply a foreign-transaction fee if it converts from another currency. Check with your bank for details.
