Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before creating an account or playing Starforge MMO (the "Game"), operated by Starforge Interactive Ltd. ("Starforge", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Game you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Game.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, logging in, or otherwise accessing Starforge MMO, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. These Terms form a legally binding contract between you and Starforge Interactive Ltd..
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes via in-game notification and email. Continued use of the Game after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance.
2. Eligibility and Age Requirements
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use Starforge MMO (in compliance with the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, COPPA). Players in jurisdictions where the minimum age for digital consent is higher (e.g., 16 in certain EU member states) must meet that higher age requirement.
If you are between 13 and 17 years old (or the applicable age of majority in your jurisdiction), you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and consents to these Terms on your behalf.
We reserve the right to terminate accounts that we reasonably believe belong to users under the minimum age, and to remove any personal data collected from underage users.
3. Accounts
You may create one (1) account per person. Multiple accounts held by the same individual ("multi-accounting") are prohibited except where expressly permitted by us in writing.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate and complete registration information and keep it up to date.
- You must keep your password confidential and must not share it with any other person.
- You must notify us immediately at support@starforgemmo.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- Accounts are non-transferable. You may not sell, trade, or transfer your account to any other person.
4. Gameplay Conduct
Starforge MMO is a competitive strategy game. We expect all players to compete fairly. The following constitute violations of these Terms:
4.1 Cheating
- Using, distributing, or promoting software that modifies game client data, speed-hacks, or provides an unfair advantage
- Exploiting bugs, glitches, or unintended game mechanics for personal gain without reporting them to us
- Manipulating game servers, APIs, or backend infrastructure
- Reverse engineering or decompiling any part of the Game
4.2 Botting and Automation
- Using automated scripts, bots, macros, or third-party software to play the Game without human input
- Using browser extensions or tools that automate in-game actions
- Any form of AFK (away-from-keyboard) automation that confers an advantage over human players
4.3 Fair Play
- Coordinating with other players to manipulate rankings, market prices, or gameplay outcomes in bad faith
- Deliberately losing battles or matches to confer advantages ("boosting")
- Account sharing for the purpose of maintaining activity during real-world absence
5. Prohibited Content and Behaviour
The following content and behaviour are strictly prohibited in all game-related communication (chat, mail, alliance messages, usernames, empire names, etc.):
- Hate speech, discrimination, or content targeting individuals on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality
- Harassment, stalking, bullying, or intimidation of other players
- Threatening or inciting violence against any person or group
- Sexual content involving minors, or soliciting personal contact with minors
- Sharing personal information of other players without their consent (doxxing)
- Impersonating Starforge staff, moderators, or other players
- Advertising, spamming, or soliciting for services unrelated to the Game
- Content that violates any applicable local, national, or international law
We reserve the right to remove any content and take appropriate action, including permanent account termination, for violations of this section.
6. Virtual Items and In-Game Currency
Starforge MMO features virtual in-game currency ("Credits") and virtual items ("Items"), some of which may be purchased with real money.
- Virtual currency and Items have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash.
- You do not own virtual currency or Items — you hold a limited, non-transferable licence to use them within the Game.
- We may modify, remove, or rebalance virtual currency and Items at any time for gameplay or business reasons.
- Selling, trading, or transferring virtual currency or Items outside the Game for real money or other consideration is prohibited.
- If your account is terminated for violation of these Terms, you forfeit all virtual currency and Items without any right to compensation.
7. Payment Terms
Premium subscriptions and virtual currency purchases are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). By making a purchase you agree to their terms of service in addition to ours.
- All prices are displayed in your local currency where available, otherwise in EUR.
- Prices include applicable VAT or sales tax where required by law.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
- You may cancel a subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- We reserve the right to change prices with 30 days' notice. Continued subscription after the effective date of a price change constitutes acceptance.
8. Refund Policy
We offer refunds in the following circumstances:
- EU / EEA right of withdrawal: Within 14 days of purchase, provided the digital content has not been accessed or consumed. By accessing or using purchased content you waive this right.
- Technical errors: If a purchase fails to deliver the paid-for content due to a confirmed technical error on our part, we will issue a full refund or resend the content at our discretion.
- Unauthorised transactions: If a purchase was made without your consent (e.g., account compromise), contact us within 30 days with evidence.
We do not offer refunds for virtual currency or Items that have been consumed or used in-game, or for purchases made in breach of these Terms. To request a refund, contact support@starforgemmo.com within 30 days of the transaction.
9. Intellectual Property
All content in Starforge MMO — including but not limited to the game engine, graphics, artwork, music, sound effects, text, code, and game mechanics — is the exclusive property of Starforge Interactive Ltd. or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Game for your personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any Game content without our prior written permission, except as expressly permitted by applicable law.
User-generated content you submit (e.g., in-game chat, forum posts) remains yours, but you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, and display such content in connection with operating and promoting the Game.
10. Privacy
Your use of Starforge MMO is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using the Game you consent to the data practices described therein.
11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Game is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the Game will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components. We may suspend, modify, or discontinue the Game at any time with reasonable notice.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Game or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amounts you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) EUR 100.
We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Game, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion or limitation of liability for certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Starforge Interactive Ltd., its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the Game; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) any content you submit to the Game.
13. Termination and Suspension
We may suspend or permanently terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, including but not limited to engaging in cheating, botting, or harassment.
- Minor first-time violations may result in a warning or temporary suspension.
- Severe violations (cheating, botting at scale, CSAM, doxxing, credible threats of violence) will result in immediate permanent termination.
- Terminated accounts forfeit all virtual currency and Items with no right to compensation.
- You may appeal a suspension or termination by contacting legal@starforgemmo.com within 30 days, providing evidence.
- We will review appeals in good faith and respond within 14 business days.
You may terminate your account at any time via Account Settings. Account deletion requests are subject to a 30-day cooling-off period during which you may cancel the deletion by logging in. After 30 days, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. For material changes we will provide at least 14 days' advance notice via:
- A prominent in-game notification banner
- An email to your registered address
- A notice on our website at starforgemmo.com/legal/terms
If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Game before the effective date of the changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where applicable consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer that cannot be waived or restricted by contract.
