Miner Ships in Starforge MMO
Miner-class ships are the economic engine of Starforge MMO — purpose-built extraction hulls that convert asteroid fields, gas clouds, and planetary anomalies into the metal, crystal, and gas that fund everything else. They carry oversized cargo holds and yield-multiplying extraction rigs in place of weapons, which makes them lucrative but defenceless. A lone miner is a target; a mining fleet escorted by corvettes and a scout is an income stream. Optimal play means matching the right miner to the right anomaly, stacking yield modules, and never undocking without an escort plan when operating in contested or null-security space.
Best Miners — Top 2
Ranked by combined hull, shielding, and speed. The strongest miner-class hulls currently in the miner roster.
Mining Hauler Mk.I
resource extraction · universal
Specialized resource extraction vessel. Mines asteroids and gas clouds between sectors.
Excavator Mk.II
heavy extraction · universal
Industrial heavy-mining platform built to strip entire asteroid fields and gas giants at scale. Its quad extraction arrays and reinforced refinery hold dwarf the Mining Hauler Mk.I's output, processing raw ore into refined resources on-site to cut return trips. The trade-off is mobility: the Excavator is ponderously slow and needs an escort, but no other single ship feeds a war economy faster.
