Hauler-class ships move the galaxy's wealth — bulk freighters with enormous cargo holds and almost no offensive capability, dedicated to trade routes, resource transfers, and alliance logistics. Their value is measured in cargo capacity and survivability under fire rather than damage output. A hauler running a profitable trade lane is one of the most reliable income sources in the game, but also one of the most tempting targets, which is why experienced commanders pad their hulls with hull-reinforcement and afterburner modules and never haul valuable cargo without an escort through hostile sectors.
