Research Is a Strategic Weapon
The technology tree defines what your empire can do. Research points earned through gameplay unlock technologies across four branches — Military, Industry, Logistics, and Science — and because earlier unlocks gate later ones, the order you research in is one of the most consequential strategic choices you make.
There is no single correct path. A commander who rushes military tech plays a very different game from one who builds an economic foundation first. The tree rewards planning, adaptation, and an eye for the synergies that make the whole greater than the sum of its parts.
Earned through play
Research points come only from gameplay. They can never be bought, and premium currency never accelerates research. Your tech lead reflects strategy, not spending.
Four Research Branches
Each branch unlocks a different axis of power. Few commanders master them all.
Military

What are research synergies?
Certain technologies amplify each other. Pairing a Military weapon tech with the matching Science targeting tech, for example, multiplies the benefit. Planning around synergies lets a focused tree outperform a scattered one.
Can I buy research progress with real money?
No. Research points come only from playing the game. Premium currency cannot buy unlocks or speed up research — it is cosmetics only. Your tech advantage is earned through smart play.
