TFS Titan

Faction: terran federation

Overview

The TFS Titan is the Federation's second-generation siege dreadnought, purpose-built to crack hardened planetary defence networks that conventional fleets cannot penetrate. Where the Juggernaut relies on mass, the Titan layers raw firepower with deep-penetration siege lances capable of piercing reinforced orbital stations from beyond standard engagement range. Its triple-redundant command core allows it to sustain coordinated siege operations for weeks without returning to a star-base, making it the preferred hammer for protracted system-denial campaigns.

Lore

The Titan does not besiege worlds — it makes them understand that the concept of resistance has an expiration date, and that date has already passed.

Tactics

  1. 1

Open siege operations with Siege Lance batteries at extreme range — deep-penetration lances bypass reinforced orbital station armour that conventional railguns cannot crack, allowing you to begin degrading defences before entering the defender's maximum effective range.

  2. 2

Use the triple-redundant command core to sustain continuous bombardment operations across multiple target prioritisation tiers simultaneously: assign Lances to station armour, Orbital Bombardment Arrays to defensive gun emplacements, and Anti-Capital Torpedoes to any ships that sortie to intercept.

  3. 3

When operating in fleet groups, position the TFS Titan as the primary siege element while Iron Fortress cruisers form a close-escort screen — the Titan handles the target, the Fortresses handle anything that tries to reach it.

Strengths & Weaknesses

Strengths

  • +Four Siege Lance batteries provide the deepest armour penetration of any Federation hull — ideal for cracking hardened planetary defence networks that resist conventional bombardment.
  • +Triple-redundant command core sustains siege operations for weeks without starbase resupply, making it the preferred platform for protracted system-denial campaigns.
  • +Hull of 6,500 and shields of 3,800 with five Heavy Weapon Slots make it both the most durable and most heavily armed dreadnought in the universal roster.

Weaknesses

  • Build time of 100,800 seconds and resource costs including 4,000 antimatter make the Titan one of the most expensive single ships in the game to replace after a loss.
  • Speed of 15 is slow enough that a determined enemy can keep it outside optimal siege range through repositioning, frustrating bombardment campaigns.
  • Specialist siege role means it is less effective in open fleet-to-fleet engagements than combat-oriented dreadnoughts of comparable tier and cost.

Recommended Modules

  • siege lance bore stabiliser
  • orbital bombardment amplifier
  • triple command core redundancy
