Progression Guide — Tech Tree, Prestige, Battle Pass & Achievements

Starforge MMO has four interconnected progression systems. This guide explains the optimal tech tree research order across all four branches, how the prestige rank system works, what the battle pass is worth, and which achievements unlock the most impactful permanent rewards.

1. Tech Tree — Branch Priorities & Full Tier Breakdown

The tech tree has four branches: Economy, Research, Propulsion, and Military. Each tier within a branch unlocks the next tier plus specific capabilities. The most common beginner mistake is branching too early — pick one or two branches and go deep before spreading laterally.

2. Prestige System — Ranks & Permanent Bonuses

Prestige Points (PP) are earned from every action in Starforge MMO: mining resources, winning combat, completing research, participating in boss raids, and achieving alliance milestones. PP accumulate permanently across seasons — they do not reset on the seasonal galaxy wipe. Higher prestige ranks grant permanent production bonuses that compound across every future season you play.

How to earn Prestige Points efficiently

Win a PvP battle: +50–200 PP (based on power delta)
Clear a Difficulty-5 pirate camp: +75 PP
Contribute to a boss kill: +500–2,000 PP (damage share)
Complete a research tier: +100 PP per tier
Claim a new sector: +200 PP
Win an alliance war: +1,000–5,000 PP (member share)
Complete a Battle Pass tier: +25 PP
Achieve a milestone achievement: +500–10,000 PP (one-time)
Commander
0–999 PP

Base game access

Fleet Captain
1,000–4,999 PP

+5% production, expanded storage

Commodore
5,000–14,999 PP

+10% production, exclusive hull skin, badge

Admiral
15,000–39,999 PP

+15% all output, Admiral wing cosmetic, title

Grand Admiral
40,000–99,999 PP

+20% all output, flaghsip dreadnought skin, priority support

Galactic Emperor
100,000+ PP

+25% all output, unique Emperor cosmetics, galaxy leaderboard listing

Prestige is cross-season permanent

Unlike your empire, fleet, and territory (which reset each season), Prestige Points and rank persist forever. A player who reaches Commodore rank in Season 1 starts Season 2 with their +10% production bonus already active. Long-term prestige is the real metagame.

3. Battle Pass — Is It Worth It?

The Battle Pass runs for the duration of each season (approximately 90 days). The free track provides light cosmetic rewards; the Premium track (available via in-game purchase or earned through Prestige milestones) adds resources, antimatter, and exclusive cosmetics. Premium Elite unlocks after completing the Premium track and grants the season's signature capital ship cosmetic.

Is Premium worth buying?

For active players (logging in daily, completing 3+ combat encounters per week), yes. The antimatter rewards alone at tiers 30–50 exceed the premium cost if converted to market value. For casual players (a few sessions per week), the free track is sufficient — you will not reach the premium-only tiers that provide meaningful resource rewards.

4. Achievements — High-Value Targets

Starforge MMO has 240+ achievements. Most are cosmetic recognition; about 40 provide meaningful gameplay rewards (Prestige Points, resources, or permanent bonuses). These are the highest-priority achievements to chase in your first season:
